Culinary Experience 2

Above a vendor selling sticky rice with Mango. Definitely one of our favorite Thai dishes.
It wouldn't be my blog without some last mention of Thai food :-) I was obviously very sad to be leaving Thailand and its amazing food. I like Malaysia and Malay food but it is just not the same. In Hat Yai there was a great variety of food to choose from. From fast food like Pizza Hut and McDonald's to restaurants such as Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Muslim and then the street vendors selling food such as chicken satay, grilled giant prawns, noodle soup, sticky rice with durian or mango and all kinds of fruit. I also found one vendor selling crab stick satay which i thought I'd have a try of. unfortunately the lady put the satay stick in some hot oil and deep fried it for a couple of minutes! I was quiet disappointed, I was happy just to have it cold, fried crab stick was a bit rubbish. It didn't taste quiet the same hot and it just soaked up the oil so was just like an hot oil satay stick which tasted a little fishy. The chili sauce I got with it was good though lol :-)
