On one of the sunny days me, Pete and Deb decided to go on the shorter jungle trek trail which would take us to the beach on the other side of the island. Me and Deb were suitably dressed in a bikini top and Deb had shorts on and me a short sarong. I think if Ray Mears had seen us he would have had a fit! Definitely not Jungle Trek gear but it was really hot and our clothes would have just been wet after 2 seconds. Though there were a lot of mosquitoes about and I'm surprised we wasn't eaten alive. The trek itself was fun. We had to climb to the top of this big hill. luckily the tree routes acted as steps which made it easier though there were lots of branches and boulders to climb over. After our steep climb we descended down the other side and to the beach. it took about 20-30 minutes and was well worth it. We didn't see anything exciting but was nice to walk through the jungle. The other side was different to our beach. There was a government building and some jetty's with many fishing boats mored up. We also walked past some places which seemed to have once been a busy resort but now shut down. We stopped for a drink and then decided to get a taxi boat back to our beach as the sun was getting low and we really didn't want to get eaten by mozzies.
